Mexing MC3008-A, Melody SP-88

Hello!

Has anyone from this forum experience from the Mexing MC3008-A (with 2A3 tube) or the Melody SP-88 (with KT-88 tubes) monoblocks?

Have searched around swedish and norweigan forum(i´m swedish) without finding so much about them. I am very interested in these monoblock and think i will try any of them but doesn´t know much about tube amps since i never owned one. Don´t know which one of these that uses the "best" tube model, or how they seems to be designed, manufatured and the quality of them. Also really wanna know the sound experience if anyone has listened.

So what do you think about these tube monoblocks?

Hi,

you are comparing two completely different setups of amps. The Meixing is a Single ended Triode amp with a 805 tower triode, the melody is a probably a push pull Kt88 amp. They will be completely different in sound. Maybe you try tor listen to the different type of tube amps, before you mak a decision, that is at least my advice.

Hello Chrissy!

I have very little possibility to listen to any kind of tube amp since i live very far from stores here in sweden also. Therefore is import from China a option to me since i have to order in anyway. I really appreciate any kind of advice of these tubeamps.

How low sensitivity on speakers can i count these amps can run on? I have somewhere between 86-88db i think.

haven't listened to both amps too, but have experience with sound of PP vs SE. So my advice would be as follows:

PP especially with KT88 sounds kind of "very good hifi", let's say not very involving into the music but clearly better than most solid state.
SE(T) is totally different soundwise. Very fluid and mostly warm sound.
Feeling of "to be there" with great details, perfectly integrated into the sound stage. Not fatiguing, no way !

So I would prefer the Meixing MC3008-A by all means !

With 40W you will be able to feed most speakers on the market.

Ich muss mich gleich mal entschuldigen, dass ich nicht in Englisch antworte. Aber das wäre dann wahrscheinlich der falsche Bereich und wäre eher in "Was zum Lachen" abzulegen.

Ich besitze die MC 3008A LE.
Also nicht die hier abgebildeten Monoblöcke aber sehr ähnliche.
Bestückung mit 300B und 805er.

Wie würde ich den Klang beschreiben:
Für eine Röhre eher analytisch.
Gegenüber meinem früheren VR 70 spielt diese wesentlich straffer und fein aufgelöster.
Ich würde sagen, dass es nicht ganz der typische Röhrensound ist.
Zwar auch recht luftig und losgelöst aber nicht auf so schmeichelnde Art wie es manche Röhre kann.

Letztendlich Geschmackssache.
Ich bin sehr glücklich damit.

What about them do you think. As i wrote earlier, i doesn´t know anything about valveamps but i wil buy my fist now and try if this is something i like and i want to buy some pretty good amp too without spending too much. Therefore i try to find the best Chinese tubeamp at fair price, theres a lot of them from China not all very good i suppose but i know from other Hifiequipment that they can produce good Hifi to.
