Cd Player to Match Cayin A-88T
Hi! I´m from Portugal! Sorry to write in English!
I loved the looks of shanlig cd 100T but this is too expensive for me. Can you recommend a Cd player around 400- 600 euro to match my future Cayin A-88T? Can be chinese or not... I listen mainly to rock and soul music.
Thank you for your help
Best regards
Miguel

Thank you for your help!
I i´m thinking on Jolida 100S, jolida music van and cayin cdt 17A. Which are the main diferrences between this equipments? The specifications on the web sites are no so conclusive...
Which is the best one?
Note: The sailesman also recomended jolida JD 502S tube amp. He said is cheaper and in the same level of Cayin A-88T. Any opinions about it? Do reccomend to buy a power filter? Some people sais is good idea to go for tube amps...
My budget for cd and amp is around 1700 euros... What is the best matc for this budget?
By the way concerning speaker cables, analogue interconect and power chord he recomended www.sineworld.com. Said they better and cheaper than xindak! Do you think chinese cable are good option? I´m crazy with this chinese components...
Sorry to put all this stuff here but is only to simplify...
Thank you very much for your help!

I read good things about Cayin CDT 17 A and Cayin A-88T. I was made my mind to buy it but after sending some mails with the seller recommended me the Jolida 801S/Music Van over the Cayin above. He said that the sound from Jolida tube amp is better tha cayin and ythe music van is similar to LUA Cantilena cd player. And the jolida combo is less expensive...
So what you think about it? The Jolida pack is a good coice?
Is reccomended to buy a power filter too?
Now somethin different. I was thinking in put in the receipt only 50% of total cost in order to pay less to Portuguese customs. The taxes here are around 25% wich increases the price alot! My only concern is if the product damages the insurance only pays 50%. Correct?
Anyone experienced problem with this subject (damage in transport). Put all 100% is safe but increases the price a lot...
Can you speak a litle about your personal expeience ordering overseas(China)
Best regards
Miguel

Hi Miguel,
it is difficult to say as I do not know your speakers, room and especially not your listening habits.
Imho would be the best choice the A88T/CD 17 combination.
When money is tight, I would recommend the A88T/Music Van combination. (BTW: User Bonsai is operating exactly that system.)
As third choice i think the A88T/JD100S would be a very good match.
About the Jolida I can not say too much, as I just auditioned that one for just a couple of minutes.
Hope that helps.
Just my 2C

Hello! Yesterday searching in portuguese forums here I found A Manley Stingray (second hand) - 1300 euros and Pathos Classic one MKII (second hand)-900 euros.
I know that is dificult question. But anyone of this amps compare with Cayin A-88T?
I will certainly buy the CD player and cables from chinese brands. I make this queston because buying one of this amps if they are good I don´t have to pay so much money in transport and to the customs!!! But only if they are good amps...
Best regards
Miguel

Thank you for your help!
I will buy Cayin A-88T tube amp and Jolida music Van cd player!
I like the looks of Cayin CDT 17A (most beautiful over Music Van) but some people who own Music Van are satisfied and say this is better than JD 100S and more a less the same that Cayin CDT 17A in performance so I went for the cheaper one.
Only one thing! I saw a person who want to sell one Pathos Classic one MKII (second hand) here (portugal) on a forum. Do you think this is a good match for my Celius or Cayin is a better choice?
Cheers

The Cayin CDT-17A is excellent in XLR mode, less good in RCA mode, because it is a real Symetric scheme CDP class A....And one single ended AOP on each channel is used to "un"symetrise the symetric scheme. So obviously, you loose transparence. If you want to use a very good one for a very good price, on RCA input of the A-88T, do not hesitate: get a Jolida JD-100S at timaudio's and optimize it by André Devillers from Belgium... You won't regret it, I can tell you.
Besides, use for 12AX7 tubes, the RTC 12AX7S "box plates" and for 12AU7/12AT7 -it depends on the version-, the RT/RTC E80CC, you will be very astonished by the results.
Best regards,
teiki arii...
So, my advise IMO with A-88T is the JOLIDA JD-100S!!!!
One of my friend from Spain is optimizing his Cayin CDT-17A by André Devillers from Belgium. He trusted me, and he won't regret it for ever...
Here are some photos of the optimization of the Jolida JD-100S by André:

I read in some forums that Jolida Music Van is superior than Jolida 100S both in original condition! I will not optimize my tube amp and cd player. Also read just a few minutes ago that Cayin A-88T is bright in medium to high range. This worries me because my triangle speaker are bright and I choose to buy a tube amp precisely to try to smooth them a litle... Can anyone with Cayin A-88T confirm this?
Also read that some Jolida player are geeting troubles! It´s true ? How are you getting to wiyh Music Van? And with Cayin CDT17A?
Do you think that Cayin A-88T and Jolida music van are good choices for me?
Cheers
Miguel

Dear Miguel,
the cayin a-88 is best you can get for your money.if you dont like it you could sell it at the same pricing you bought it but believe me this wont happen.
you should listen to the unit at your own speakers and the you have your personal opinion about the cayin.if it will sound to bright or anything else just change the pre tubes and you will get the direction of sound you like.
as for the jolida i got personally the JD100s and the unit is working well without any problems.the user tom_h got both units the music van and the jd100s and if i am not wrong both players worekd well without any problems also.
both the music van and especially the cayin a88t are very good choices.
Best regards
Dennis

I will go for Cayin A-88T! Do you think the Cayin CDT 17 A is better than jolida music van? It is more expensive than music van. I have the money. But... Do you think I should get the Cayin CDT17A or the Music van is enough?
cheers

IMO, you should get Jolida JD-100S or a MV as I told you. Because Cayin CDT-17A is very good with XLR outputs but less good with RCA. And it doesn't worth IMHO to buy a more expensive one if you don't have XLR inputs on your ampli.Wireless hat geschrieben:thank you very much!das_sams hat geschrieben:Dear Miguel,

I agree, Cayin A-88T is an excellent ampli, but with RCA plugs and NOS tubes...

I do not think a symetric-XLR CDP is better than an asymetric-RCA CDP... It depends on the scheme!hifi-tubbie hat geschrieben:Hi,
I agree that the sound is much better when the XLR output is used. However, since I only got one amp with a XLR input, I couldn't find out whether the difference is coming from the CDP or the amp.
Bye!
But as far as the Cayin is concerned, it doesn't worth buying it if you don't use XLR...
If you have XLR ampli, use the Cayin IMHO and optimize it by the magicien from Belgium...
