Hi all,

Soon i will order my Mingda 845 mono's + their famous preamp.
Spark CDT15 will join the party

Now i am looking for good speakers, prefer chinese brands since Klipsh, Harberth, Tannoy is expensive in China due to the taxes I think?

Aurum Cantus offers a 98db now, brand new Leisure 6, but very expensive too... Do know somebody in Shanghai who has Zu speakers that he maybe wants to sell for a good price to me so he can buy these new AC 6... hahaha ( Just kidden Juri) Ali Generali, doesn't seem to qualify too i read here.

Anybody any idea, experience or advice on the following speakers...

Hi, for your information:

The AC leisure 6 is only 88db. The ribbon tweeter alltough is 98db. So, not very usefull for very little powered amps.... :cry

Price in HongKong is around USD2000, including shipment to Europe.

Hi Rolf,

You are very right, AC Leisure 6 is 88db

Was looking at the AC site a little bit to quick, mind..., could be my hope that was to quick...

Hell of a lot of money i think, but play like hell too... That is in the conditions i could hear them play, 10 chinese in the back who are talking with full voice and no comparisson against Leisure 5 for example... :idn:

Anyway, oeps for the mistake

Michael

dont sweat it. I 've been looking at the new AC Leisure 6 too. If u use it with a pair of 845 SET and in a livigroom of asian (25-30 m2) proportions I think you'll have plenty of power. So why would you need high dB?

More important is that their impedance doesnt drop too low below 4 Ohms. If a speaker has an easy load of 8Ohms you win 3 dB compared to one thats drops to 4 Ohm (like you mostly get with 2 bassdrivers).

The Leisure 6 has a much bigger ribbontweeter, allowing for a lower takeover frequency. Which means better mids and a bassdriverthat can work harder.

dynamic sound

Hi,

Found an interesting explanation why high db speakers are a better match, you can even download a sort of ruler to check your own system.
And who knows, maybe someone is interested in these superchargers, it almost sounds like something to pimp your car

In short it's not at which sound level I can play but more how dynamic my system sounds, even at low levels.

@ChinTube: This is really interesting stuff to read. Thanks for sharing it. Not that I am tempted to boost my amp-power, as my situation does not call for more power, but it explains some interesting facts formerly unnknown to me.

Learning all the time, thanks to this excellent forum and it´s members.
